UMB Sponsor Three Categories at Major Awards Night |
|
Organisers UMB have stepped
forward to sponsor three categories at the Facilities Management Awards, run by
Facilities Management Middle East magazine.
Chris Fountain, Group Director for UMB, was interviewed by the
magainze’s editor Becca Wilson, who was keen to understand why UMB are so
committed to the FM industry.
So Chris, why did you decide to support the FM Awards?
Well, UMB have been involved in and supportive of the Facilities Management industry for many years: we produce the highly successful UK facilities management events Total Workplace Management, The Facilities Show, and M&E – The Building Services Event. We are keen to help develop and grow the industry in the Middle East region, with the launch of Fit-Out Middle East and Gulf Landscaping alongside the now established Working Buildings exhibition and conference. The FM Awards are an ideal opportunity for us to present what we are doing, and of course to have a good time with our friends in the industry!
UMB are delighted to have announced the launch of Fit Out Middle East, an exhibition dedicated to the final stage of construction. This exhibition will provide products and services from hundreds of companies and brands to those involved in the fit out of commercial, retail, residential and leisure spaces. We have sponsored the Functional Fit Out Award as we are keen to recognise excellence in this rapidly developing market. And why the Landscaping Award? Gulf Landscaping is an exhibition that will assist landscape architects, master-planners, developers, facilities managers and others to design and create valued outdoor spaces. Landscaping and outdoor design contribute significantly to the appeal of buildings, cities and public areas, and this reward deservedly marks the contribution made by these professionals to the development of the region as an attractive and desired area. UMB, organisers of Gulf Landscaping, will also showcase best practice in this field as we look to support and develop the industry still further. And, of course, why the FM Manager of the Year Award? Last year UMB published the first in-depth research into the state of the facilities management industry in the region. It was published during the Working Buildings Middle East Conference, and highlighted the great contribution that facilities managers can and are making to the lifecycle of buildings in the region. By recognising the FM Manager of the Year, UMB hopes to continue to support the development of the industry and firmly establish Working Buildings Middle East as its annual meeting point. What benefit do you think the awards will bring the industry? The recognition of best practice across these many functions is essential in order to further develop and expand the industry. In highlighting those that have brought new or improved ways of working and thinking to the region, we can share ideas and help to build future success. And of course we can all have a damn good night out! |
